Introduction:
Ongoing discussion of findings has enabled focus towards high risk issues such as slag-rich Made Ground and free phase hydrocarbons in groundwater. The location of sensitive local receptors has been considered and outline mitigation strategies have been developed. A follow up meeting was held to discuss the findings and to obtain feedback.
Details:
The site is a former tinplate works and has a legacy of difficult ground conditions and contamination. Our phased investigation and assessment has identified various factors that affect the development potential. Our approach has enabled high risk development abnormal costs to be identified and mitigation strategies have been proposed.
