Welsh Champion!
Over the past years, ESP has provided sponsorship and support to South Wales athlete Rhys Knapman. We’ve received some recent news that we’d like to share:
Following a hamstring injury early in 2013, enabled by Welsh Athletics physiotherapists and coaches Christian Malcolm and Jock Anderson, Rhys entered the Welsh Senior Championships in Cardiff in June as an underdog.
After a shaky start, Rhys won his heat as third fastest qualifier for the 100m final and ended up taking silver! Not being content with this, Rhys focussed ahead for the 200m event the following day. The wind tried its best to spoil things by causing disruption in the home straight, however Rhys took gold and successfully defended his national 200m title.
Rhys is now focussed towards full rehabilitation, competing into 2014 and ultimately qualifying for the Commonwealth Games.
