Providing support for the Ffos-y-fran land reclamation scheme

Earth Science Partnership are pleased to announce we have been engaged as Geotechnical Advisers for the ongoing operations for the Ffos-y-fran land reclamation scheme in Merthyr Tydfil. Our team took the feature image whilst on site recently… the yellow dots are mine-scale plant and equipment, so it’s an impressive sight!
Work on the project commenced in June 2007 and will eventually result in the reclamation of 367 hectares of derelict land, the site of existing tips, abandoned vehicles, dangerous and uncharted mine shafts and adits, creating a better and safer environment for the local community now and for the benefit of future generations.
Following on from our involvement in the early investigation/prospect stages for the proposed Nant Llesg scheme (http://www.nantllesg.co.uk/), we also look forward to aiding decisions and options for progressing this new surface mine.
