On 4th November, celebrations of geology are taking place at the University College, London where the Festival of Geology is hosted by The Geologists’ Association. Admission is free and you can view a range of geological things from fossil and mineral displays, books, maps and more. The event takes place from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Visitors can also view two originals of the most important maps in geological history as part of a special exhibition – the Smith and Greenough maps.
It’s an ideal event for families, and visitors to the Festival can book on to local geological field trips which are taking place on Sunday 5th. The field trips are to Albert Memorial, Crystal Palace Dinosaurs and more.
