Quality, Health and Safety
Quality, Health and Safety are very important to us. In terms of work implementation, we are qualified to the highest standards in our field, e.g. ISO and SSIP scheme approved SAFEContractor.
We are accredited by SAFEcontractor for our commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety. SAFEcontractor is a leading accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management. Under the scheme, we underwent a vetting process which examined health and safety procedures and our track record for safe practice; this accreditation enhances our ability and is viewed very positively by colleagues, partners and clients.
Our priority is the safety of personnel and public throughout any site works. This philosophy is supported and documented within our ISO:18001 accreditation for health and safety. Comprehensive PPE is provided to all technical staff and records are kept of issue and maintenance. ESP determines whether employees need any specific health and safety training will depend on the work activities they complete. For example, all field operatives have a CSCS card, CAT and asbestos training as a minimum.
Our safety and health monitoring is lead by example and by being proactive in observing performance standards. Our objectives are always to encourage work practices and methods that protect everyone. In undertaking our plan/perform/check/act routines, we ensure that all identified risks are properly controlled to create a situation where everyone works safely to agreed methods of work, the quality of work is acceptable and productive, and they progress to plan.
Giles Sommerwill and Matthew Eynon have both attained the NEBOSH General Certificate Qualification. Senior staff members Jeremy Hucker, Hywel Davies, Danilo Bettosi and Mat Elcock have attained the IOSH Managing Safely qualification. Awareness, knowledge and competency within the CDM framework/regulations is an essential and assessed part of these qualifications.

Our specialists meet specified standards of professional qualification and experience. All our technical staff are members of the respective professional body and chartered where appropriate (CGeol, CEng, CEnv etc.).
